DENNIS SMITH is a composer and orchestrator for dozens of films and television series.

He loves the freedom and experimentation found in writing for film. His interest in music started with jazz guitar which led him to an intense musical schooling. He received a Bachelor of Music from the University of North Texas before pursuing higher education in composition at the New England Conservatory as well as completing the prestigious Film Scoring program at USC.

After learning under one of his favorite film composers Jerry Goldsmith at USC, Smith went on to orchestrate and compose additional music for major films such as the Anna Faris starring Scary Movie 2 (additional music), the sci-fi hits Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines and I, Robot (orchestrator), as well as horror maestro Wes Craven’s Cursed, My Soul to Take, and Scream 4 (additional music). He also orchestrated Clint Eastwood’s baseball drama Trouble with the Curve and composed additional music to two-time Oscar nominee Marco Beltrami’s scores for Carrie and True Story.

As a composer Smith has more recently provided music for the Sundance true crime film Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile on Netflix, the History Channel’s series Six and the Fox series Lucifier. Currently, he is scoring the CW reboot Roswell, New Mexico.

Smith lives in the Pacific Palisades with his lovely wife and three daughters.
